Gold at over 4 month low on global cues; muted demand

Gold prices dipped by Rs 90 to trade at over four-month low of Rs 25,525 per ten grams, extending its slide for the third straight day at the bullion market today, tracking a weakening global trend and muted demand from jewellers. Silver too remained under selling pressure and shed another Rs 100 at Rs 34,000 per kg.
Bullion traders said a weak global trend where gold traded at over five-year low as the US Federal Reserve expected to hike interest rates next month, helped boosting the dollar, curbing demand for the precious metals as an alternative, induced sentiments.
Globally, gold fell 0.1 per cent to USD 1,056 an ounce, after dropping on Friday to USD 1,052.83, the lowest level since February 2010 in Singapore. At London, it traded a shade lower at USD 1056.40 an ounce in early trade today.
Besides, slackened demand from jewellers and retailers weighed on the prices.
In the national capital, gold of 99.9 and 99.5 per cent purity fell further by Rs 90 each to Rs 25,525 and Rs 25,375 per ten grams, respectively, a level last seen on July 21.
The precious metals had lost Rs 205 in the precious two days.
Sovereign, however, edged up by Rs 100 to Rs 22,200 per piece of eight grams.
Tracking gold, silver ready eased by Rs 100 to Rs 34,000 per kg and weekly-based delivery by Rs 120 to Rs 33,580 per kg.
Meanwhile, silver coins held steady at Rs 48,000 for buying and Rs 49,000 for selling of 100 pieces.

While both the devices have got enough prowesses to impress any Windows 10 fan, the key attraction has to be the Display Dock. With Microsoft’s Display Dock, you can convert these new smartphones into a full-fledged PC running Windows 10, thanks to Continuum.
How to convert it into a PC?

You will need an external display (any TV with HDMI port), a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard combo along with either the Lumia 950 or 950 XL and of course the Display Dock.  If you don’t find a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, you need not worry. The same can be done on your smartphone as well.
Now think about this scenario. You already have an external display, a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard at your office or any meeting room that you would be visiting. You simply walk in with your Microsoft Lumia 950 or 950 XL, the display dock and the necessary cables for the meeting. Connect the palm-size dock to the TV and your smartphone. Pair the Bluetooth mouse and keyboard. You now have a Windows 10 PC. So, for your next presentation you don’t have to carry your laptop. Everything you need is already synced on One Drive and you are good to go.

It is way more than Miracast
Keep the thought of Miracast aside. The Display Dock is way more than that old technology. The best part is the TV powered by the dock works independently. This means you can play Angry Birds on your new Lumia smartphone while delivering a PowerPoint presentation on TV. And no one in the meeting room has to know about it.
Not just Angry Birds. You can take calls or even make them, browse the Internet, play music on your Lumia 950 or 950 XL without any interruptions on the TV screen. While your colleague is changing slides or explaining them in the meeting room using the mouse and keyboard, you can easily do your work on your phone. The Display Dock makes the external display work separately altogether.
It comes with two USB 2.0 ports, one USB high current charging port, one Display Port and one USB Type C port for connecting the smartphone. The Display Dock has to be powered separately.
With these, you can transfer files to your smartphone or put them on One Drive from your external storage, charge another smartphone or tablet and more. Also, while the Lumia 950 or 950XL is connected to the Display Dock, it automatically gets charged. So, you won’t end up with low battery on your smartphone after a presentation.

Apps: What works and what doesn’t?
So, will all apps (predominantly built for small-screened smartphones) open seamlessly on the huge external display? No. Only universal apps will. The good news is most of them you would need are universal.
How capable are the new Lumia 950 and 950 XL?
The purpose of having two devices is primarily to give more choice to buyers. If you need a bigger 5.7-inch display then opt for the Lumia 950 XL, else if you are good with a 5.2-inch display then go for the Lumia 950. Apart from the display size, the Lumia 950 XL runs on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with Adreno 430 GPU. Microsoft is using liquid cooling technology for meeting the cooling requirements of Snapdragon 810. There is actually distilled water inside the 950 XL working as a coolant. It is powered by a bigger 3,340 mAh.
On the other hand, the smaller Lumia 950 is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with Adreno 418 GPU and a 3,000 mAh battery.

Other specs of both the devices are similar. Both come with 32GB internal storage expandable up to 2TB, 3GB RAM, 20 MP f/1.9 rear cameras with Tricolor LED Flash, 5MP wide angle front cameras AMOLED display and Windows 10 Mobile operating system.
After spending a brief time with both the devices, I would say Windows 10 Mobile gives a refreshing touch to traditional Windows phones. Both the smartphones were smooth and I did not face any hiccups while running them the Display Dock. The Snapdragon 810 SoC does heat up a bit but it is way more manageable now and there are no performance issues at all.
Special mention. The camera quality seems excellent.

मर्सिडीज बेंज ने 2.4 करोड़ रुपये में लांच की "AMG GT S"

 

देश की जानी-मानी लग्जरी कार निर्माता कंपनी मर्सिडीज बेंज ने मंगलवार को भारत में परफार्मेंस कार खंड में एएमजी जीटी एस माडल पेश किया है। इसकी दिल्ली शोरूम में कीमत 2.4 करोड़ रुपये है। इस कार में 4 लीटर का बाई टर्बो इंजन लगा है। यह इस साल देश में कंपनी की 14वीं पेशकश है। कंपनी ने 2015 में भारत में 15 नए उत्पाद पेश करने की घोषणा की है।
मर्सिडीज बेंज इंडिया के प्रबंध निदेशक व मुख्य कार्यकारी रोलैंड फॉल्गर ने कहा कि एएमजी जीटी एस को भारत में उतारना हमारे द्वारा शीर्ष उत्पादों को भारत में पेश करने का उदाहरण है। हम भारत में अपने वैश्विक पोर्टफोलियो का सबसे प्रतिष्ठित उत्पाद कर रहे हैं। मर्सिडीज बेंज फिलहाल देश में 10 एएमजी उत्पादों की बिक्री कर रही है।

आईआईटी के छात्र को गूगल से 2 करोड़ का पैकेज

आईआईटी खडग़पुर के छात्र अभिषेक पंत को गूगल ने 2 करोड़ रूपए का पैकेज ऑफर किया है। अभिषेक पुणे का रहना वाला है। गूगल की डिजाइन सॉल्यूशन्स सेल में नियुक्त होने से पहले छात्र को एक राउंड के इंटरव्यू का सामना करना होगा। अभिषेक गूगल की उस टीम के साथ काम करेगा जो यूजर्स द्वारा बताई गई समस्याओं का समाधान करती है। वह अभी कम्प्युटर साइंस फाइनल ईयर का छात्र है। 22 वर्षीय अभिषेक ने इस साल के शुरू में गूगल कैलिफोर्निया में तीन माह की इंटर्नशिप है।  उसने सीबीएसई दसवीं में पुणे में टॉप किया था। पुणे में जन्में अभिषेक का पालन-पोषण अमेरिका में हुआ है। इसके बाद परिवार 2006 में पुणे शिफ्ट हो गया था। वह करियर संवारने के लिए अभिषेक फिर अमेरिका जाने की तैयारी कर रहा है।

25 फीसदी लिवर के सहारे जिंदा हैं महानायक अमिताभ बच्‍चन

बॉलीवुड महानायक अमिताभ बच्‍चन ने खुद के बारे में एक बड़ा खुलासा किया है। उन्‍होंने बताया कि वह पिछले 20 साल से एक गंभीर बीमारी से जूझ रहे हैं। इस बीमारी की वजह से उनके लिवर का 75 प्रतिशत हिस्‍सा बेकार हो चुका है। हाल में अमिताभ एक कार्यक्रम में पहुंचे थे और इस बाबत खुलासा किया।

मीडिया में सामने आई कुछ रिपोटों के अनुसार, उन्‍होंने जो खुलासा किया, उसे सुन सब चौंक गए। अमिताभ ने बताया कि मैं एक गंभीर बीमारी से जूझ रहा हूं जिसका नाम है हेपेटाइटिस बी। ये बीमारी मुझे पिछले बीस साल से है। फिल्‍म 'कुली' के वक्त हुए हादसे के बाद दिए गए ब्लड में से कुछ हिस्सा हेपेटाइटिस बी अफेक्टेड था। इस वजह से मेरे लिवर का एक चौथाई हिस्सा ही बच पाया। उन्होंने आगे कहा कि अब मैं पूरी तरह से ठीक हूं औऱ लोगों से गुजारिश करता हूं कि लोग अपने बच्चों को हेपिटाइटिस बी का टीका जरूर लगवाएं।

अमिताभ ने यह भी कहा जब भी मुझे स्वास्थ्य को लेकर कोई भी परेशानी हुई मैंने देश के डॉक्टरों पर भरोसा किया और मुझे इस बात पर गर्व है कि उन्होंने हमेशा शानदार काम किया। इसलिए मैं उन सभी डॉक्टर्स को बधाई देना चाहता हूं। उन्होंने आगे कहा मैंने अपने कुछ इलाज के लिए अमेरिका के डॉक्टरों को भी दिखाया। मैं आपको बताना चाहता हूं कि जो इलाज मुझे अमेरिका मेंमिला वह भारत से बिल्कुल अलग नहीं था।

गौर हो कि अमिताभ बच्चन बीते दिनों हेपिटाइटिस बी की वैक्सीन को लेकर एक जागरुकता कार्यक्म में शामिल हुए थे। इस कार्यक्रम में केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री जेपी नड्डा समेत कई वरिष्ठ डॉक्टर भी मौजूद थे। यह कार्यक्रम भारत सरकार के टीकाकरण कार्यक्रम इंद्रधनुष का हिस्सा था। अमिताभ बच्चन के कार्यक्रम से जुड़ने के लिए पेपी नड्डा ने उनका आभार भी जताया।
