How To Fall Asleep In 30 Seconds

Believe it or not, getting a ‘good night’s sleep’ is not as easy as it sounds. Everybody dreams of it but most of us tend to spend hours either tossing or turning or rearranging the pillow for most part of the night. So if you’re in the market for a few blissful Zzzzz’s, here are 5 tricks that just might help to put you to sleep in a jiffy.

Eat Healthy…

Yup as boring as it may sound eating right has been known to improve the intake of essential minerals, like potassium and magnesium that can help you sleep better sans the tossing and turning. Certain foods like turkey for example also contain tryptophan – which helps induce sleepiness.

Keep It Cool…

Believe it or not, the ambient temperature of your bedroom has a lot to do with the quality of sleep you get. Apparently, our body temperature starts falling when we feel sleepy, ergo the cooler our room, the faster we cool and then voila…we are in the Land of the Nods. Just remember, the idea is to keep your room cool and not turn it into an ice-box.

Practice Meditation…

Used to treat a variety of mental and physical ailments, meditation also enables you to forget your stressors, calm your mind and focus on your breathing, which in turn allows you to sleep better.  

Set A Time For Bed…

Setting a fixed time to go to sleep can help your mind recognize for you to go to sleep helps your mind recognize that it is time for you to start unwinding and relaxing.  A regular bedtime also helps your brain adjust its levels of serotonin and melatonin that are essential for a good night’s sleep.

Grab A Book…

It’s often said that a boring read can put you to sleep instantly and it appears there is some truth in this belief. Reading is an excellent way to calm your mind, stay away from pesky, sleep hindering gadgets like mobile phones and iPod’s and more importantly help you relax completely… And the next thing you know…you have attained horizontal nirvana with a smile on your face.
