What use can toothpaste be put to besides keeping your pearly whites clean and sparkling? Well, if you just have a look at some of the unique and unconventional uses of toothpaste, you will definitely be amazed. So, here are some of the most unusual uses for toothpaste that do not involve your teeth.



Yes, you read it right; toothpaste makes a really good hair gel. It contains the water-soluble polymers that are commonly found in hair gels. Just squeeze a tiny amount of gel toothpaste in a bowl and add about 50 ml of water to it. Stir it for a while to completely dissolve the toothpaste. Then use this mixture the same way you would use your hair gel. But remember, you must wash off your hair by the end of the day to ensure that the residue does not build-up in your hair.

Toothpaste provides a common solution to your everyday skin problem. To get rid of a pimple, simply apply menthol toothpaste and keep it on for a few minutes. Wash it off to see that your pimple has completely dried out. Always remember to hydrate your skin afterwards with some mosturising lotion.



To get rid of those unsightly bruise, apply a mixture of toothpaste and a skin lotion, and cover it up with a band-aid. Do this for about two to three days and you will be surprised to see how soon your wound disappears.You can soothe a mosquito bite by applying some toothpaste over the itching skin. Whatmore, toothpaste can even be used to heal a few mild burns.





Want to get that natural shine on your finger or toe nails, but you realise you are out of enamel? Well, here also toothpaste comes to your rescue. Take a small amount of toothpaste and buff your nails with it, using a soft brush. Whitening toothpastes can also help to get rid of those ugly tinges that you get on your nails after extensive use of nail paint.



Has your diamond ring lost all its lustre? Then get its sparkle back by cleaning it with toothpaste and a damp cloth. You can also use toothpaste to bring back shine on your silver. Rub some toothpaste on them with your hand. Wait for the toothpaste to dry and wash it off with some water. If you are still unhappy with the result, then you can leave the toothpaste on it overnight. Later, polish your silver with a soft cloth to make them dazzle.


Did someone spill coffee on your beautiful carpet? Fear not! Just squeeze some toothpaste directly on to the carpet and scrub it with brush. Rinse it with a little water and see that eye-soring stain disappear.

Want to clean your leather purses or your shoes or soles of your sneakers? Here is a simple solution. Dab some non-gel toothpaste on the leather surface and rub it with a soft cloth or a soft bristle toothbrush. After you are done, clean off the surface with a damp cloth.

Don’t you just hate it when your mirror gets all fogged up after you take a long luxurious shower? Well, you can avoid it by rubbing some toothpaste all over your mirror and wiping it off with q dry cloth, before you go for the shower.
Now, there is no need to get all worked up if your child has used your clean wall as a canvas for his masterpiece. Gently rub over the drawing with some toothpaste and damp cloth to make it disappear. But, make sure you click a picture of that drawing before your erase it, to remain in the good books of your baby.

Here is an inexpensive way to get rid of the scratches on your cell phone! Just squeeze some toothpaste on a cotton bud and gently rub it on your phone screen in small circular motions. After sometime, remove the toothpaste with a damp cloth and your screen will be as good as new. Remember to switch off your phone while cleaning the screen, and do not use a gel toothpaste.
